EQUITY IN
DOWNTOWN
OAKLAND
The city of Oakland is rooted in community, arts, culture, and diversity.
A city where innovation, creativity, and collaboration thrive.
We see it in people, places, neighborhoods, and communities, and it is among Oakland’s most powerful assets.
The Downtown Oakland Specific Plan process
is an equity-driven and community-focused process to create a shared vision for Downtown
that helps prioritize the needs of existing residents throughout Oakland.
We believe that by using community-driven ideas, we can develop a plan for the Downtown that will lead to a more equitable and thriving future for everyone.
